Heavy rainfall, accompanied by a windstorm on Wednesday, wreaked havoc at the Ondo State Sports Council in Akure, the state capital.

The rain destroyed sections of the roof of the administrative building and part of the covered seating at the stadium, with stationery and other equipment seriously damaged.

The General Manager of the sports council, Mr Sunday Fagite, in a chat with Sporting Hope lamented the high level of havoc the rainstorm has done to the building.

According to him, I’m appealing to our governor to come to our aid at the Council, we need serious and quick attention to fix the damaged section .

“We want the Governor to visit us and see the level of the damage the rainstorm has done to our office, the rain has destroyed most of our files, computer and other equipment.

“We are now sun-drying our files and other equipment, the staff have to move to other offices which is not comfortable for them”, he lamented.
