Ondo State lawmaker, Ifabiyi Olatunji (JP), has urged Muslims across Nigeria to use this year’s Ramadan as a period of prayer for the country’s unity and socioeconomic advancement.

He also called on the people of Ondo State to support the administration of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa through prayers, emphasising the need for a thriving and sustainable economy in the state.

In a statement issued to journalists in Akure, the Ondo State capital, Ifabiyi extended his greetings to the people of Odigbo State Constituency 1, wishing them a blessed new month.

Highlighting the significance of Ramadan, he described it as a time for prayer, fasting, and total devotion to God, urging Muslims to remain steadfast in righteousness during and after the 30-day period.

Addressing security concerns in parts of Ondo North, Ifabiyi stressed the importance of unity among residents, noting that collective efforts were crucial for economic stability and food security.

According to him, “Ramadan season reflects the period of love, sober mood among Islamic worshippers.”

“It’s also a period to bless the needy and the poor as commanded by Prophet Allah.”

“Equally, I beseech you all Muslims in Ondo and Nigeria as a whole to use the occasion to seek the face of God for a better Nigeria.”

“Let us, all faithfuls in Ondo State, pray for the new administration of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for the betterment of all.”

“Remember, Ondo State belongs to all of us; let the bonded unity continue to soar up for economic and food security, and we shall live in peace,” Ifabiyi stated.
