By Tola Gbadamosi

The Commander of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun Corps, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, has urged residents, especially Muslims, to remain vigilant and security-conscious as they observe the Ramadan fast and participate in religious activities.

In a congratulatory message to the Muslim faithful on Friday in Akure, the state capital, Adeleye commended their dedication and spiritual discipline during the holy month.

He assured the people of the state that the Amotekun Corps, in collaboration with other security agencies, had put necessary measures in place to ensure a safe and peaceful environment throughout the period.

However, he emphasised the need for personal and communal vigilance, urging residents to report any suspicious movements or activities to security operatives.

“While we are working tirelessly to keep our communities safe, security remains a collective responsibility.

“I urge all residents, especially our Muslim brothers and sisters, to stay alert, avoid isolated places at odd hours, and report any unusual incidents to the appropriate authorities,” he stated.

Adeleye also called on Muslims to use the Ramadan period to pray fervently for the peace, security, and progress of Ondo State and Nigeria as a whole.

He stressed that the power of prayer, combined with proactive security efforts, would go a long way in ensuring the safety and stability of the state.

Furthermore, he enjoined religious leaders and community heads to sensitise their followers on the importance of maintaining peace and unity, reminding them that a secure environment fosters development and prosperity.

“As you gather for prayers and lectures, let us also pray for divine intervention in our nation’s security challenges.
