Widows have been admonished to uphold their faith and stay with God in all their challenges as no one who stays with God regrets.
The Regional Coordinator of Jesus Wives, RCCG, Region 22, Pastor (Mrs) Olufunke Igbagbo, gave the admonition during the official inauguration of Jesus Wives executives in Ondo Province one, held at the Provincial headquarters, Glory Tabernacle, Ijapo Estate, Akure.
The cleric, who spoke on the topic, ‘My Sun Shall Rise Again,’ took her text from Isaiah 60 v 1-3. She said the death of their husbands should not be the end of everything, but that they should see it as a challenge which they must face with the help of God.
She said that while they look unto God who cannot be limited and who can take care of all their needs, they should also engage in godly ventures.
She advised them to acquire skills that could fetch them money, no matter how small, saying the Lord will enlarge it.
Her words: “Though you will be lonely, all you need do is make your children your confidants.”
She said for their Sun to rise again, certain things they need to do are: to be born-again, put their trust in God, and they must not be idle.
Mrs Igbagbo said the church did not just assemble the widows to give them gifts, but that the essence of the event, was to fellowship together, and by so doing, their needs would be known and attended to, while their challenges will also receive solutions.
Earlier, the Convener and Wife of the Pastor in charge, Ondo Province one, Pastor (Mrs) Abigael Oyesola said the event was organised to celebrate the widows and let them know that they are very special and not forgotten by the church.
She advised them not to let anything weigh them down because they have ‘All Knowing God’ who cares for them.
About 200 widows benefited from the gifts given to them by the church.
