RECAAN Inaugurates National Executive

It was a time to thank God and open another chapter in their musical ministry as members of Rebirth Christian Artistes Association of Nigeria (RECAAN) gathered in Akure on Saturday December 4 for Jesus Celebration 2021 and inauguration of new national executives.
Founded in 2008 by Apostle Amos Balogun, RECAAN is an association of Gospel music ministers with branches across the south west, Edo and Kwara States.
Speaking at the event which was tagged Arise and Shine, the Chairman Board of Trustees of RECAAN, Lady Evangelist Victoria Omodudu, admonished members of the association to always seek to glorify God and eschew ungodly practices.
Her words, “I implore you to know where you are coming from, so that you will know how to prepare for the future. I took note of the words of your anthem, that you are children of God out to praise and glorify God. Henceforth, know that anybody who has not been called can’t sing Gospel or Holy Spirit inspired songs. I also want you to know that a lot of Gospel singers have derailed from the right track because of publicity and mundane things. That is not our mission in RECAAN. Our mission is to praise God. Therefore, in composing songs, we must take note of that. Don’t dabble into any ungodly practice because it won’t let you last.”
Highlights of the inauguration ceremony included swearing in of the new national executives of the association, which was coordinated by the legal adviser, Mr. Adeola Kayode, and presentation of awards to some of the patrons and patronesses.
In her acceptance speech, the newly sworn in president, Evangelist Folashade Adeniyi thanked members of the Board of Trustees and other dignitaries who graced the occasion. She also extended her appreciation to all those who contributed to the success of the programme.
Adeniyi promised to ensure accountability and sustainability of the founding fathers’ legacy during her tenure.
While promising that the executive board would work as a team to attain all their goals, the chief helmsman expressed hope that membership of RECAAN would spread to other states of the federation.
She said, “We hope that before the end of 2022, more people will join as there is room for more members.”
Speaking with The Hope, Pastor Samuel Abodunrin, a patron of RECAAN from Kwara State who was also honoured with an award, said, “I want to advise members of RECAAN to be focused. A man of God said when you mind opposition you lose your position. Let them know why God has called them and what they are doing. Let them not lose focus, otherwise they will derail. If they derail, it’s going to be disastrous.
Other dignitaries at the occasion included the founder of RECAAN, Apostle Amos Balogun; Comrade Johnson Osunyemi, Chairman of Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP); Special Adviser to the governor on media, Miss. Mary Agidi, Pastor John Kolawole and several others.
Reverend John Oladapo, Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria; Princess Omowunmi Olatunji-Ohwovoriole and many other dignitaries.
