Rector hails Aiyedatiwa as RUGIPO bags 100% NBTE accreditation

Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State, has recorded a landmark achievement, securing a 100 percent success rate in the 2025 accreditation exercise conducted by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).

The Rector of the institution, Mr. Simon Olorunwa Adegun, who disclosed this attributed the exceptional performance to the unwavering support and impactful leadership of the Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

“This success is not just ours alone; it is a reflection of the support and goodwill extended to us by the state government under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa,” the Rector stated.

Adegun described the governor’s role as pivotal, saying Aiyedatiwa’s style of governance has continued to yield tangible results in the education sector.

He disclosed that the NBTE accreditation process thoroughly scrutinised all facets of the institution, including academic programmes, infrastructure and quality of teaching staff yet the polytechnic emerged unscathed, meeting all criteria with excellence.

“The clean sweep is a testament to our unwavering commitment to academic excellence and our dedication to providing education that meets the high standards expected by the NBTE,” he noted.

According to the Rector, 68 academic programmes were successfully accredited during the exercise, a development that is poised to boost the institution’s reputation and position it as a top choice for students and professionals in pursuit of technical and vocational training.
