Reelecting Akeredolu ‘ll guarantee good governance – Odu

The Chairman of the Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Princess Oladuni Odu has declared that reelecting Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu would guarantee continuity of good governance in the state.
Odu, disclosed this while meeting with the teachers in Ondo Southern Senatorial district ahead of October 10, 2020 gubernatorial election in Ondo State.
The tour which began at Ese-odo, Irele and Ilaje local government areas where the SUBEB Boss met with headteachers and the leadership of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) on the achievements of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
The SUBEB boss who was accompanied by two members of the Board, Princess Funmilayo Brown and Mr. Tayo Fayanju, decided to visit all the council areas to interact with teachers.
According to Odu, the present administration since inception has made many interventions at the primary education level which included hundreds of school projects comprising of construction, renovations, and equipping with requisite facilities.
She added that the Governor’s achievements in education sector included regular promotion of teachers, ensuring Teachers now exceed level 14 to reach level 16.
Thirty five schools’ projects in Ese Odo comprising 11 newly built schools and 21 that were renovated.
At Irele, she revealed that over 5300 teachers have been promoted, 4400 trained, 163 converted from non teaching to teaching while 434 benefited from inter cadre transfer since the present government came on board.
Odu, therefore assured that the ongoing recruitment process will also be merit driven to produce the best hands to help address the shortage of teachers across the state.
The state NUT Treasurer, Comrade Akiri Ibakedeghin thanked the present administration for the intervention in the education sector, and appealed for more and pledged the support of teachers.
In his own words, the SUBEB board member 11, Mr. Tayo Fayanju said the government is aware of all the challenges in the education sector which is why Akeredolu’s reelection would enable him address them and do more for teachers.
Princess Fummilayo Brown, board member 1, and the Chairman of Ilaje local government, Goke Jatuase, however, appealed to the teachers to take ownership of Akeredolu’s reelection campaign in appreciation of his concern for their welfare.
However, the tour continued to other local government areas in the southern senatorial district.
