The abandonment of Ajowa/Igashi/ Eriti road, in Akoko Northwest Local Government area of Ondo State by the contractor handling the project, has been described as, not only retrogressive but an impediment to the socioeconomic development of the area.

The Regent of Igashi, Princess Mojirade Ipinlaye stated this  while inspecting the progress of work on the road.

The road which connects Ekiti State with Ondo State through Omuo Ekiti is a very crucial road for the boundary town because of its proximity with Ekiti and Kogi States.

Princess Ipinlaye noted that work has stopped on the road and equipment removed, thereby giving the people hopeless expectations.

According to her, now that rain season has commenced, road users,  particularly farmers, will find very difficult to make use of the road to evacuate their farm produce.

The regent urged the management of NNDC to kindly mobilise the contractor back to site.

She equally called for the speedy completion of Okeagbe/Igashi road to facilitate easy access to Akoko Northwest Local Government headquarters for governmental activities.
