Ondo state traders have been urged to register their names for the formation of a data bank for the development of trading in Nigeria and internationally.

The Erelu Iya Oloja of Akure Kingdom, Chief Adefunmilayo Adekanye, High Chief Jomulobun of Ondo Kingdom, Chief Modupe Oluwole, Chief Operating Officer of Lekan Nig. Limited, Engr Adeleke Adedipe and  the State Chairman of the  National Association of Nigerian Traders (NANTS), Mr Mayowa Olawoye gave the advice in separate interviews with The Hope in Akure.

Adekanye observed that traders should understand the aims and objectives of registering into respectable and solid organisations to  fight for their rights and bring them to limelight, saying that the operation of such organisations are humanitarian services.

She said there is need for Ondo state traders as well as government to participate in the exception.

High Chief Modupe Oluwole said that the move will elevate the traders and Ondo women in particular

Oluwole opined that it will also bring development to the state and not the women alone.

Engr Adeleke Adedipe emphasised on his intention to redeem his promises for traders if they can coordinate themselves like what is being experienced now.

He said he has earmarked between two to five million naira loan revolving scheme to assist registered traders in the state.

Adedipe who said that the revolving loan and fund will be tagged “Fehintola money”, noted that each person would get at least 20,000 naira from the loan which is to be paid back within every six months.
