Release of 3 abducted pupils saves grandma from suicide in Ekiti

Pupils of the Apostolic Faith Group of Schools in Emure-Ekiti, who recently regained their freedom from their abductors have been discharged from the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, (EKSUTH)Ado-Ekiti .

Recall that five pupils of the Nursery/Primary School, three teachers and a driver of the school were abducted on their way back home about two weeks ago.

They were moved to the hospital for proper medical attention immediately after their release from the kidnappers’ custody.

The state Commissioner for Health, Dr Oyebanji Filani, who spoke before the pupils were handed over to their respective families said, ”We are here today from the place of joy, happiness and excitement.

“As a government having had the children released and having properly treated by various teams in the Teaching Hospital in Ekiti State. We are returning them to their community.”he stated.

Meanwhile, a grandmother of three of the  released pupils, Mrs Dorcas Ojo has said that she had already bought a product having the capacity to terminate her life, had it been that her three grand children who were abducted were not eventually released by the kidnappers.

Mrs Ojo who disclosed this on Sunday while speaking with newsmen said,”They (grand children) were traumatized by the kidnappers as they were forced to trek long distance in the bush,not staying in one location,and also not given food to eat during the seven days they were in captivity”

“They were saved by God Almighty through the prayers of the people of Emure,Eporo Communities,”she said.
