Reps: Winners emerge in PDP Northern District primaries

Winners emerged late on Wednesday in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries to elect those who will flag the party’s flag in the 2019House of Representatives Elections in the Ondo North Senatorial District

The primaries which was held in the three federal constituency areas of Owo/Ose, Akoko North East/North West and Akoko South East/South West was without  stalemate as clear winners emerged.

In Owo/Ose federal constituency, Architect Sadiq Oluwole Obanoyen emerged as the party’s candidate as he polled 107 votes to beat his rivals.

In the election, Obanoyen beat the incumbent member of the House of Representatives, Honourable Bode Ayorinde and Dr Ade Abitoye.

Honourable Ayorinde who recently defected to the PDP from the APC could only poll 73 polls thereby coming behind the winner with a margin of 34 votes while Dr Abitoye scored 54 votes.

In Akoko Southeast/Southwest Federal Constituency, Mr Martins Abiloye won the primary with 171 votes to beat the duo of Debo Ologunagba and Mr Lawani Busuyi who scored 55 and 30 votes respectively.

In Akoko Northeast/Northwest constituency, Olawale Ogunleye came victorious with 169 votes to beat two other contestants, Tunji Banso and Fatai Adams who scored 52 and 44 votes respectively
