A chieftain of the Pan Yoruba Socio-Cultural group, Afenifere, Chief Femi Aluko, has advised politicians to do the needful in rescuing the economy of the country from going under completely.
He said politics in the country has descended to a hopeless level.
Aluko stated this in an interview with The Hope.
The elder statesman explained that corruption and over ambition among politicians have taken over the country and put her economy in bad shape.
He condemned corruption and over ambition among the political class and leaders, just as he noted that youths are now coming into the system with no intention to solve the problems but to join them.
According to him, “because of over ambition, all political parties messed up in their primaries which have cost them not to have internal democracy.
He called on politicians in the country to emulate Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Dr. Nnamdi Azikwe and Alhaji Ahmadu Bello, who sacrificed themselves and left good legacies behind.
His words ” During my time, we discuss with people to know their plights but nowadays legislators distance themselves from the people.
