According to them, this is when those hoodlums perpetrate their evils more.

Investigations by The Hope revealed that burglaries are now rampant in some areas of the town during the day and at night.

Some affected streets are: Olusola Oke street, Mapamile street and Oluwa Toyin sawmill area, among others.

Speaking on the incident, The Jegun of Idepe- Okitipupa kingdom, HRM Oba Michael Obatuga Adeoye said the shortage of manpower is the main security challenge facing the town.

He said: “I was not informed of the recent crime, however, I appeal to the authorities concerned to do the needful without wasting time as we are fast approaching the festive period.

Obatuga noted that Okitipupa is a very large community with only one Police station, therefore the manpower needs to be increased.

“As it is now, the police may not be able to reach everywhere in the town, though, there are other security agencies like Amotekun, notwithstanding, we are still short of manpower because all these evil perpetrators are moving around every minute.

“Most of the people perpetrating this evil come from neighboring communities, periodically in collaboration with the innermost. So, we have to review our security architecture”.

He advised residents to be vigilant and not accommodate hoodlums as the year is running to an end.
