Residents nab serial burglar in Ore

Residents of Power Line area in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, apprehended a 20-year-old serial burglar on Monday.

The burglar, who identified himself as Kayode Ajobaju, claimed he was returning from a night party before being caught.

It was learnt that the suspect was apprehended at about 4 a.m. on Monday after breaking into several shops and stealing chilled soft drinks, bread, malt, milk, and rice.

Some residents, who spoke with The Hope Metro, said the suspect had been breaking into shops in the area repeatedly without being caught.

It took the efforts of some strong youths in the area to restrain the suspect as he attempted to escape.

A resident, who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity, said the matter would be reported to the police station in Ore as soon as possible.

Our correspondent, who visited the scene, gathered that the suspect had been tied up with the stolen items.
