Residents of Akure, the Ondo State capital, on Monday besieged the MTN office over the sudden blockage of their SIM cards.

Recall that the communication network had, over the weekend, blocked numerous customers due to alleged NIN verification issues.

Several customers, speaking to The Hope, expressed their frustration, noting that they had not received any prior notification from MTN regarding the need to link their NIN to their phone numbers before the blockage.

During The Hope’s visit to the MTN office in Akure, many aggrieved residents were observed attempting to resolve the issue and reactivate their SIM cards
