Residents of Ondo State have been called upon to obey the environmental sanitation law in order to maintain a clean state.

General Manager, Ondo State Waste Management Board, Mrs Bola Akinyanmi made the call last Saturday while monitoring the  January 2019 edition of the monthly environmental sanitation exercise in some specific locations in Akure.

According to her, it is important to observe the exercise so as to keep both the home and surroundings clean adding that it will also guarantee healthy living for the people.

She frowned at the illegal dumping of waste along the drainage  at the popular Oba Adesida road and also the inappropriate waste disposal along the walk ways which she described as unacceptable.

She specifically cautioned against the dumping of waste inside the drainage in front of a telecommunication company along the road.

Addressing violators of the exercise who were members of the NURTW at Oloko park, she reminded them of the need to maintain a clean environment in their various homes and not only at their work place and urged them to always keep their homes clean during the exercise.

One of the executives who craved anonymity apologised and promised to inform others on the need to stay off the park during subsequent exercise.

She also inspected FUTA North gate area and  Shagari village  among others.

During the exercise, most people were seen observing it while ZL Global Alliance were on ground to collect generated waste.
