By Saheed Ibrahim

The Commissioner for the Ondo State Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, Mr. Laolu Akindolie, has announced that the results of last Saturday’s common entrance examination into secondary schools in the state will be released within the next three weeks.

The examination, also known as the placement examination into secondary schools, was held on Saturday, June 29.

A total of 69,127 pupils sat for the examination, which was conducted simultaneously at designated centres across the 18 local government areas of Ondo State.

The examination enables the placement of final-year pupils from both public and private primary schools into secondary schools of their choice.

Akindolie, while monitoring the conduct of the exam in Akure, the state capital, expressed his satisfaction with the process.

The centres visited included Eji-Oba High School, Oba Ile, Dominic’s High School, Akure, and United CAC Grammar School, Akure.

The Commissioner stated that the total number of candidates for the examination was 71,546, reflecting a 3.69% increase in enrollment over last year’s figure.

Akindolie assured that Ondo State public secondary schools are well-equipped to accommodate all candidates who pass, noting that the government is recruiting an additional 1,000 teachers to address any shortages.

He said that the results of the examination would be released three weeks after the exam date, as marking would be computerized.
