Concerned community leaders in  Akoko area of Ondo State have  appealed  to the  state governor,   Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,  to kindly resuscitate  Agricultural Centre and Demonstration farm in   Ikare and Arigidi  established by late Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

The  farms which was established 70 years ago was  now lying fallow and use presently not useful and relevant for the purpose it was meant.

The duo of Chief  Tayo Origbemisoye and  Saliu  Okoja while speaking on behalf of others however, wanted it to be relocated to either Iboropa road or between  Erusu Ibaram road where there was  a large expanse of land for agricultural development.

They equally called for the  conversion of the present site to industrial zone that will transform  Akokoland.

According to them, the call became imperative as hoodlums, kidnappers, ritualists and drug peddlers had taken over parts of the land.
