Dare devil assailants suspected to be ritualists struck again last Friday, as a 50-year-old trader, was killed, while her breasts were severed and taken away by the unknown persons.
The Hope Metro gathered that the woman, simply identified as Iya Dunsin was found dead and dumped in the middle of Odi Olowo street, the road to Arigidi Oja, along the same road she lived during her lifetime.
When our correspondent visited the scene at about 6.30 am, her lifeless was still lying where she was dumped with her breasts removed.
It was discovered that her assailants must have smashed her head with an object as the head was swollen while drops of blood were still on her mouth.
Further investigation, however, revealed that the act might have been carried out at another location as no trace of the object used to hit her was found around the scene, suggesting that she might have been dumped there.
A piece of cloth was reportedly tied around her ankle, also suggesting that she might have been tied down during the operation.
The Hope Metro gathered that the 50 year old victim of ritual killing was an indigene of Ikaram Akoko, a palm oil seller, who resided in a house, about 100 kilometers from where her body was found.
A source at the scene, who refused to disclose his identity said that the residents woke up in the early hours of the day to see the lifeless body of the woman in the middle of the road leading to her house.
The source described the death of the woman as a rude shock to residents of the area.
He, therefore , called on the police to do a proper job to fish out the perpetrators.
Another source told our reporter that Iya Dusin left home on Tuesday on a business trip to buy kegs of palm oil which was her trade.
She stated that neighbours were expecting her arrival, but woke up to hear the sad news, adding that when they got to the scene, they could not believe what they saw.
Hundreds of onlookers and sympathisers were seen at scene catching glimpse of the victim.
When The Hope Metro visited the house of the victim, the place has already been deserted by other inhabitants.
The Divisional Police Officer for Okeagbe Akoko, SP Ibitayo Adetanranmi confirmed the incident and assured that the perpetrators of the wicked act will be fished out.
The Commander, Ikare -Akoko Police Area Command, ACP Razak Rauf who spoke in the same vein, disclosed that criminals like ritualists will not be given a place under his command.
It will be recalled that three similar cases happened late last year at Ikare- Akoko involving women with their private parts and breasts removed, while another eight year old pupil of a public primary school in Okeagbe Akoko was also killed in a ritual manner.
