A woman has been found dead in the room of her ex-lover, with her legs, hands tied and her stomach ripped opened with intestines removed.
Our correspondent gathered that the lady was reportedly invited by her ex-lover for a visit after which her line was unreachable.
The ex-lover, a middle aged man, popularly known as Honourable Bankole Oginni, resides at Danjuma area in Akure, Ondo State capital.
The Hope Metro further gathered that the 45-year-old suspect who claimed to be a football coach, allegedly killed the yet-to-be identified lady in his living room.
It was learnt that the deceased who was tied with rope, had burns on her body.
Items such as a knife and sack were found beside the deceased, suspiciously aimed to be used in dismembering and packing the corpse of the lady.
Meanwhile, Oginni has been arrested by men of Nigerian Police Force, B-Division, Oke-Aro, Akure, after the victim’s corpse was discovered.
The Public Relations Officer of the state police command, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, in a statement, said a lady reported at the station that her mother, who was Oginni’s ex-lover, was invited over to his place at Oke-Aro area of Akure.
“After she left her house, she did not return and her phone was switched off. She later traced her mother to the ex-lover’s house, only to find her lifeless body in the room, with her legs and hands tied and her body opened with intestines removed.
“Also there were patches on her body that showed signs of hot water burns,” the PPRO stated.
Odunlami-Omisanya said the suspect is in custody while the corpse of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue.
