RUGIPO alumni supports physically challenged student

The Alumni Association of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo (RUGIPO),has donated a sum of one hundred thousand naira (N100,000) to a physically challenged student in the institution, Miss Odunayo Ayodele  for the payment of her outstanding school fees.

During the presentation programme organised by the Directorate of Students Affairs, Miss Ayodele, an outgoing HND II student of Business Administration and Management was presented  the money to enable her pay  her outstanding school fees and proceed with her clearance.

Speaking during the event, the Acting Rector of the polytechnic, Mr Gani Ogundahunsi commended the association for the gesture.

His words:”I thank the leadership of the alumni association for  its  various supportive programmes for the institution which include, the recent donation of laboratories and the proposed 150-bed space modern hospital.

He noted that with these kind gestures the association has really touched lives, adding that the positive effects of these philanthropic gestures would continue to linger in the minds of right-thinking Nigerians.

 Ogundahunsi prayed that God would make the association to be prosperous to do more for the development of mankind. He implored well meaning Nigerians to emulate this .

The Ag.Rector who also donated a sum of twenty thousand naira (N20,000) to the student, advised her never to see herself as a handicapped person but a physically challenged person.

The lucky student, Miss Ayodele who recently received a wheelchair donated to her by a Lecturer in the Department of Crop, Soil and Pest Management Technology, Mr Taye Aderibigbe also received other cash donations from the Deputy  Rector, Dr.Samuel Alagha and the Director of Public Relations and Protocol, Mr Yemi Suleeman .
