RUGIPO cult clash: One suspect in police net

The Ondo State Police Command yesterday confirmed the arrest of one of the suspects, believed to have been involved in the killing of a student of the Rufus Giwa  Polytechnic, Owo, in Owo Local Government Area of the state.

The police Spokesman, Mr Femi Joseph, while chatting with The Hope Metro yesterday, described the incident as another unfortunate and despicable act of ‘these cult boys.”

The Hope Metro gathered that the deceased, an ND 1 student in the Department of Public Administration was shot in the early hours of Thursday.

Joseph  said, “It actually happened yesterday morning when we were hearing sporadic gunshots at the front of the institution.

“Our men raced to the scene, led by SP Onigbinde, the Divisiomal Police Officer, ‘B’ Division, Owo.

“By the time our men got there, we beheld the corpse of a young man, whose identity was yet to be ascertained.

“We suspected that it was a cult clash.

“But now, we have made an arrest. And the suspects is helping us in our investigation. For security reasons, we won’t disclosed his name now.

“I am happy to let you that we have restored normalcy to that effect. “Our men on ground have made sure that normal activities are going on, in and outside the campus.
