As part of measures to ensure that students resume into a safe and conducive environment, the Management of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo has fumigated the institution in line with COVID 19 protocols of the Ondo State government.
The Rector of the institution, Mr Gani Ogundahunsi who said the exercise was a reflection of management’s commitment to resumption of staff and students in a safe environment thanked a law maker, Mr. Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi for facilitating it.
According to him, all other elementary things like sanitizers, buckets and soap for washing of hands among others would be provided.
To ensure social distancing, Ogundahunsi said the first two weeks of resumption will take care of the Ordinary National Diploma Two and Higher National Diploma Two who are final year students while others would be called later for their exams.
Ogundahunsi said the management will next week release the supplementary calendar for the disrupted 2019/2020 academic year.
Facilitator of the fumigation exercise, Mr. Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi said It was his own modest support for the state government in the education sector.
Ogunmolasuyi who is the lawmaker representing Owo constituency one in the House of Assembly stated that it was necessary to fumigate the environment of the institution to make sure that it is clean and conducive for the resuming students.
