RUGIPO holds orientation, matriculation for new students

The Ondo-State owned Rufus Giwa polytechnic, Owo (RUGIPO) will hold a two-day orientation programme for its newly admitted students from Wednesday to Thursday ,April 2, and 3, 2025.
In a terse circular obtained by The Hope, the event will take place at the institution’s 800-seater Auditorium, starting at 10:00 a.m. each day.
The orientation will include various lectures designed to introduce National Diploma (ND 1) and Higher National Diploma (HND 1) students to the Polytechnic’s policies, academic standards, and available student support services.
Following the orientation, the formal matriculation ceremony for the new students will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, also at the 800-seater Auditorium, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The ceremony marks the official induction of the new students into the polytechnic community.
The polytechnic management has noted that attendance at both the orientation and matriculation ceremonies is compulsory for all newly admitted students.
Students are advised to arrive early and be seated by 9:30 a.m. on each day.
To facilitate a smooth and successful event, the management also declared a lecture-free period for ND 1 and HND 1 students on the two orientation days.
Also, all students will have no classes on the matriculation day to encourage full participation.
The management instructed all matriculating students to collect their academic gowns from their faculty officers on Thursday, April 3, 2025, and to be robed and seated by 9:30 a.m. on the day of the matriculation.
However, the management congratulated the new students and their families, urging them to actively engage in all activities.
