The National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS) had commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for taking action regarding salary payment for staff of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo.

Recall Governor Aiyedatiwa had at a meeting with organised labour on the 18th of this month promised to look into the payment of salary arrears for staff of the polytechnic as soon as possible.

He also directed the payment of 2017 salary arrears to Ondo State workers and payment of pensioners’ arrears of palliative.for the months of November and December 2023.

In a statement signed by NAOSS National President, Oyelade Hammed and the Chief Press Secretary, Joseph Oluwasogo, the student body expressed heartfelt commendation to Governor Aiyedatiwa for his exemplary leadership.

The statement reads: “This decisive action not only reflects Governor Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to the welfare of workers but also underscores his dedication to the overall development of the educational sector in Ondo State.

“The National Association of Ondo State Students acknowledges and appreciates this positive step towards promoting a conducive academic environment.

As advocates for education and the well-being of students and academic staff, NAOSS commends Governor Aiyedatiwa for prioritizing the resolution of salary issues at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic. This timely intervention undoubtedly contributes to the sustenance of a conducive atmosphere for learning and teaching.
