RUGIPO to name project after Ogunoye

The Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye-III, on Friday played host to the Management team of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo in his palace.
The team, led by the Rector, Mr Gani Ogundahunsi, was in the palace on a courtesy visit to the monarch to intimate him on the series of development that have taken place in the institution since the new leadership assumed office.
Speaking at the brief but memorable visit, the Rector, Mr Ogundahunsi elaborately spoke on various infrastructural developments that the institution witnessed in his short time in office as Rector.
Ogundahunsi said, presently there are massive constructions of projects ongoing on campus while some have been completed and ready for commissioning in no distant time, just as he used the opportunity to extend an invitation to the Oba as special guest of honour at the event.
The Rector informed that, one of the completed projects to be commissioned along with others is the Modern Market which the management will be meeting to approve the naming of the market after Oba Ogunoye.
Apart from physical development, Ogundahunsi said, the school have developed a website for the use of students for E-learning along with the establishment of FM Radio Station.
Responding, Oba Ogunoye commended the management for attaining these heights in a short period of time.
Oba Ogunoye who did not hide his joy in respect of the happenings in the school said, he was highly pleased to hear about various progress made which he described as unprecedented.
The monarch disclosed that, the leadership quality displayed by the Rector brought about the development the school is currently witnessing.
He urged the management to look inwards in the area of research into various academic programmes which would hitherto bring added value to solar energy, agricultural produce just as he mentioned the hand sanitizer produced in the school as a test case to buttress his argument on capacity building through research.
The monarch told the visitors that he is always available for whatever assistance required of him.
Other Principal Officers on the entourage were the Registrar, Mr Atiku Sule, Librarian Mrs F.R. Aladeniyi, the Bursar, Deputy Rector- Administration, Dr Alagha, Deputy Rector- Academics and the Public Relations Officer, Mr Samuel Ojo.
