Salawa Abeni remains my wife – Kollington Ayinla

Veteran Fuji musician General Kollington Ayinla has declared that fellow singer Salawa Abeni remains his wife until death, despite her current relationship with another man. The music icon, speaking after more than three decades of separation, insisted that the woman he once shared a life with cannot be taken from him.
In a recent interview with media personality Teju BabyFace, Kollington explained that Salawa’s present partner has only “borrowed” her. He emphasised that their marital bond remains intact and pointed out that the songstress has no children with her current companion.
Recounting the circumstances of their separation, Kollington said:
“That’s how God wants it to be. Salawa has three children with me. She is my wife till the end of life. She’s a celebrity. And just like how women chase after male musicians, it is the same way that male fans also chase after female stars. But a woman’s understanding is limited. No matter what I’m doing, she always turns up. She remains my wife. The person she is currently with is only loaning her.”
According to Daily Post, the couple parted ways in 1990 after eight years of marriage, during which they welcomed three children.
