Sallah: Lawmaker hosts constituents, promises more services delivery

In the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir celebration, a lawmaker representing Akoko North-West State Constituency 1 in the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Jamiu Sulaiman Maito recently organised a special sallah celebration for members of his constituency.

The special event held at the Arigidi-Akoko country home of the lawmaker had in attendance EXCO members of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), across his wards as well as members of his constituency.

Hon. Maito said the yearly event was designed to host and entertain members of his constituency and appreciate them for their unalloyed support. He added that he decided to fix the get-together for Wednesday, a day after  Sallah festival to enable him have enough time with his party members and other members of his constituency, as the Sallah day is always busy for all Muslim faithful.

The get-together also afforded the lawmaker the opportunity to get more feedback from his people and discuss how to further develop the constituency and the party with a view to moving it to the next level.

 Maito, who is also a House of Representatives aspirant for Akoko North-East/North-West Federal Constituency  particularly appreciated the people  promised to continue to justify the confidence reposed in him as their representative. He noted that if given an opportunity to serve at higher level it will afford him more opportunities to serve his people better.

“I have been very transparent, loyal and honest with my people. Despite the financial challenges across the country, I have been able to do the little I have done because of their support. I’m also promising them more developmental programmes,” he added.

While charging the people to continue to support Akeredolu-led administration as well as president Muhammadu Buhari in their strides to make life more meaningful to the people,  the lawmaker urged them to see his political aspiration as a collective one which is in the best interest of all.

Some party leaders, who spoke at the event described Hon. Maito as a grassroot politician and a good representative of the people of the constituency, noting that they have no regret giving him their mandate to represent them.

 One of the party leaders, in the constituency, Remi Agun, from Ajowa Akoko, described Hon. Maito as a man of the people, who is always at home with his constituency. He pointed out that they will continue to give him necessary support for the development of the areas.

“We have not regretted having Hon. Maito as our representative here. He is doing well, and we also believe that if he is in higher position he will serve his people better,” Agun stressed.

Also, another leader from Arigidi-Akoko, Oluwagbenga Adeniyi, who said the gathering was very successful, also commended the lawmaker for his laudable performances in the constituency since elected.

On her part, Momoh Oluwatoyin Esther, from Erusu Akoko, disclosed that women are solidly behind the lawmaker because of his love for women and his various programmes aimed at improving their lives.
