In a bid to rescue Sunshine Stars from relegation stakeholders in Ondo State have appealed to all warring and offended parties to close ranks to salvage the team from its present precarious situation.
This was contained in a communique issued at the end of the football Stakeholders meeting held at the Ondo State Sports Complex, indoor hall in Akure, yesterday.
The communique enjoined all stakeholders to intensify more prayers for Sunshine Stars to turn the table around positively, charging supporters club not to relent on its underground work.
It urged fans to support the club’s new coach to succeed just as he was able to take Ekiti United FC from the relegation to the top 3 of their league table.
They appreciated the commitment of the state Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu despite the scarce resources of the state.
According to the communique, “we attested to the fact that Sunshine Stars FC is owned by the Ondo State government, however the government must ensure that the club gets out of the precarious position on the league table.
“We therefore solicit sufficient funding in order to meet the financial obligations of the team towards assisting them to prosecute their remaining matches.
“It added that the critical roles of the state football association and Sunshine Stars supporters were amplified while the congress urged the handlers of the Ondo State football Agency to accord the state FA their dues.”
Ondo Football Association and other Stakeholders were charged to go all out and do their best to salvage the team from the danger zone.
