State Chairmen of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, under the umbrella of the SDP State Chairmen Forum, have thrown their weight behind the recent appointments made by the party’s National Working Committee, NWC, describing the move as strategic and timely.

In a statement issued by the Forum, the chairmen commended the foresight and commitment of the National Chairman, National Secretary and the entire NWC, applauding their resolve to reposition the party for greater impact through key nominations into the national leadership structure.

The newly appointed officers include Dr Sadiq Umar Gombe, who now serves as Deputy National Chairman (North); Senator Ugochukwu Uba as Deputy National Chairman (South); and Bello Ado Hussain as the National Financial Secretary.

While congratulating the trio, the Forum urged them to approach their new responsibilities with dedication and a sense of service, stressing that the expectations of party members nationwide were high. It also charged them to deploy their wealth of experience towards deepening the party’s ideals and expanding its influence across the federation.

Femi Olaniyi, popularly known as Ferrari, who serves as Chairman of the SDP State Chairmen Forum, spoke on behalf of the group.

He reiterated their unflinching support for the National Chairman, commending his leadership style, which he described as visionary, inclusive and pragmatic.

“We pray for wisdom and success for all the newly appointed executives,” Olaniyi said. “It is our hope that they will key into the vision of our National Chairman and work collectively towards taking the SDP to enviable heights.”
