Security guard ‘held’ for stealing N7m

The Polilce have arraigned a 26- year- old guard, Ikedi Okere, ‘before an Akure Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing over N7million school property.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Suliaman Abdullatteef, told the court that Okere committed the offence in October 7, 2018 at about 5:00am within the jurisdiction of the court.
According to Abdullateef, the defendant stole one Toyota Hiace Hummer bus with number plate AAA198XA valued at about N7,000,000.00, one Honda Generator, valued at N100,000, two Solite motor batteries worth N50,000.00 and 25 litres of premium motor spirit (PMS) valued at N4,000. Total valued at N7,154,000.
The prosecution said the property belong to one Venerable Deji Olugboji, proprietor of Heritage Group of Schools, Akure.
The alleged offence was said to be contrary to sections 516, 383 and punishable under section 390 (6) of the Criminal Code Cap 37 Volume 1, Laws of Ondo State, Nigeria 2006.
The prosecutor informed the court of his intention to call three witnesses to prosecute the matter. But he asked for an adjournment to enable him study the case file.
