As the 2019 General Elections and that of the Ondo State Local Government Elections scheduled for December this year draw closer, a community leader in Owo, Chief Jamiu Ekungba, has admonished politicians not to see the elections as-do-or-die but a clarion call to serve the people.

Chief Ekungba, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, stated this in a chat with The Hope in Owo.

The APC bigwig queried why a person who offered to serve the people should now turn around to become violent when the people prefer his opponent for the position.

He emphasized that such attitude have indicated that going to the position if elected was for personal gains.

Ekungba disclosed that the monetization of elections which has now become rampant phenomenon in the country’s electoral system should give every right thinking Nigerian a concern.

Condemning this development, he said this should not be blamed on the contestants alone but also on the electorate that found it difficult to resist such offer forgetting that it is their future they are simply mortgaging.
