The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senatorial aspirants who lost to pick the party’s tickets in Ondo State have said that they have no plans to leave the party for other political parties to achieve their political ambition.

They said their failure to pick the party’s ticket could not make them to abandon the PDP for other parties to realize their ambition.

Some of the aspirants, who spoke with The Hope yesterday include serving Senator representing Ondo Central Senatorial District, Ayo Akinyelure, immediate past State Chairman of the party, Mr. Clement Faboyede.

But Akinyelure disclosed that he was still consulting to know the next line of action to take despite coming second in the election.

The Senator, who averred that his loss in the election was not the end of the world said he has no plan to quit the party.

He described the primary election as credible and transparent process that was rancour free.

Speaking through his Special Aide on Media, Mr. Charles Akinwon, the Senator said “we lost the election but that is not the end of the world.

“It was free and fair , but as regard leaving the party, we will not , because we cannot build a house and pull it down ourselves.

“My principal is a stakeholder in the party and it can be seen that he has been getting victorious in anything he partook in”

As a core party man, Faboyede said he would never abandon the party, particularly that he gave his all to the party when PDP was down in the state.

The former Chairman who came third in the election for the Central Senatorial District said the process was free and fair.

Both Akinyelure and Faboyede lost the PDP primary to Ifedayo Adedipe SAN, who scored 82 votes.

Faboyede debunked viral statements disparaging former Governor Olusegun Mimiko and other PDP leaders over outcome of the party primary.

He assured his readiness to work with Ifedayo to secure victory at the general elections.

He said, “The primary was free and fair, that is the truth. I want to make it abundantly clear that without malice I stand and I have never asked anybody either on Facebook or WhatsApp to start casting aspersions and derogatory languages on my leader, Dr Rahman Olusegun Mimiko.

Efforts to know the next line of actions of other aspirants of the party in South Senatorial District  and former Speaker of the State House of Assembly , Ogundeji lroju and the serving Senator Nicholas Tofowomo proved abortive as they did not pick their calls and response to test messages sent to them.
