Shooting Stars football club have defeated Kwara United 1-0 in the match day 12 of the Abridged Nigeria Premier Football League.
The match decided at the Kwara United adopted home of Kwara United, Ondo State Sports complex saw both sides played goaless draw .
Akpan Joseph broke the deadlock for the Oluyole warriors in 94th minute after benefited from a rebound .
Former Sunshine Stars players, Sikiru Alimi had earlier missed a penalty for 3SC in the 86th minutes.
Shooting Stars had played a draw with Kwara United in Ibadan in the first leg of the league before turning the table against their hosts in their adopted home.
Shooting Stars coach, Gbenga Ogunbote in a chat with newsmen said the match was a difficult game for his side, saying the important thing is that he got the maximum points.
Ogunbote said: a draw would have meant two points lost for his team, thank God we won, all we are doing now is to get our steps stabilize on the log table.
The first stanza of the league was not pleasant to us, we pray that the second leg would be better.
According to Kwara United coach, “Kabir Dogo , it was a good game, the was all about luck, they are the better team today.” I have nothing to say about the penalty, the center referee saw it better , he awarded it and they lost it.”
“I pray the officiating is continue like this, we will make it up elsewhere”, he said .
