SITA rolls out new residency identification number

The State Information Technology Agency (SITA) is to roll out a multipurpose identification number known as Ondo State Residency Identification Number (ORIN) soon.

The special number which is engraved on “Kaadi igbeayo” is to serve as the only gateway to access all government’s social amenities and welfare packages.

According to a statement by the media manager of the agency, Sola Obagbemisoye , Senior Special Assistant to Ondo state governor on ICT Mr Olumbe Akinkugbe, ORIN will also serve as the only access code to  individual transactions with government at all levels.

Akinkugbe who doubles as the Chairman of SITA further explained that, the number was carefully designed to be personal to individuals adding that, the number will henceforth be required at any interface with government to minimize sharp practices   and wastages within the system.

He listed some vital areas where the number will be required to include payment of taxes, registration of vehicles, landed properties, entrance into the public schools, access to loans, public health care facilities among others.

The SITA boss assured the public that the new number comes with personal security features that will protect owners from invasion of his or her privacy.

While calling on members of the public to visit SITA for their new “Kaadi igbeayo”, Akinkugbe said the code will be mailed to each individual through SMS for keeps.
