The State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Ondo State, Mrs. Victoria Nnenna Ani, has given assurance to Corps Members that the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme will lead them to financial independence and economic viability.
Mrs. Ani gave the assurance during the SAED products exhibition and competition for 2024 Batch A Stream 1 Corps members at the Ikare-Akoko orientation camp.
She emphasized that the NYSC has established a strong foundation for the future of graduate youths.
She advised Corps members to embrace the post-camp training at their places of primary assignment and not rely solely on their connections.
Ani advised them to always inform their Local Government Inspectors and SAED Schedule Officers about any difficulties they encounter during the post-camp training so that these issues can be promptly addressed.
Mrs. Ani lauded the SAED Committee, heads of committees, and collaborating agencies for their support during the orientation course.
During the event, Corps members with outstanding business plans received support grants from Wema Bank Limited. One member of the Orientation Broadcasting Service (OBS) emerged as the winner of the grant.
Mr Olugbenga Justus Adefehinti, the Assistant Director/Head of SAED, encouraged the graduate youths to remain motivated and to utilize the challenges facing the nation as opportunities to showcase their abilities and creativity, emphasizing that these challenges are not unique to Nigeria but are a global phenomenon.
