‘Societal happenings influence my songs’

An upcoming female Artiste, Olutosoye Esther Abiodun has said she receives inspirations through events happening in her environment.
“My songs are products of feelings or societal happenings. And these are seen in my lyrics, either singing solo, freestyle, or in my live performance.” She said.
During an interview with Friday Extravaganza, the 23-year-old artiste with the stage name Exteria said she has passion for music and she has her parents’ support.
Exteria, a 300 level student, of Biochemistry, at Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa, added that she chose “Hip-hop” as her style of music because she believed she can influence her audience with it positively.
According to her, “I am just a young girl with dreams who needs adequate support to make my dreams come true. When people listen to my songs, some don’t believe I sang them because of my stature. “”I want to show more of my talent in music to the world. With enough support and love, we can bring Exteria to the limelight, which is why I chose every famous artiste that makes good music as my role model.” She added
While commenting on the Nigerian music industry, she emphasized that there is enough room to accommodate upcoming artistes to bring in their uniqueness and add to the peculiarity of all the genres that we have, beginning from their different techniques, instruments and the type of songs if only they would not give up.
“Do not give up, keep pushing, consistency is very important. We must be celebrated.” she said.
