Sodomy: FUOYE final year student nabbed for rape

…wants to become first youth governor in Ondo
A final-year student of the Federal University of Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Ekiti State, Olalekan Oni, has been arrested for alleged rape.
Oni, a 400-level student in the criminology department, popularly known as Asiwaju, was arrested on Monday for raping a male counterpart.
Hope Metro gathered that the suspect had earlier revealed his ambition to become the first youth governor of Ondo State.
Students who spoke on the issue said he was not a first-time offender, as he often drugged and raped young male students of the institution.
“He’s an executive in the social science faculty. From what I heard, he is fond of drugging and raping young male students. This one just backfired,” a student said.
It was learned that Oni also recently presented his project research, which, ironically, examines the “causes and youths’ involvement in criminal activity.”
Oni, some days ago on his Facebook account, announced that his next ambition was to be the first youth governor of Ondo State.
“My next ambition is to be the first youth to become Ondo State Governor. Becoming governor for me is a calling, not an ambition. I believe that God at any point in time controls the destinies of men. I believe that with my experience, expertise, and track record, I have so much to offer our people by serving as their governor. And we have very clear short, medium, and long-term plans,” he wrote on June 8.
Reacting to his arrest, the Police Public Relations Officer in Ekiti State, Sunday Abutu, said on Tuesday, “It’s a report we got, and the suspect has been arrested.
He said an investigation has commenced in which the suspect is denying it, while the victim is alleging. But after the investigation, we will know who is actually telling the truth and who is lying.”
