Hearing is billed to commence today in the case of aiding and abetting kidnap instituted against Prophet Alfa Babatunde and some members of his church at the Ondo State High Court before Justice O.A Odusola.
It would be recalled that the case was transferred to the High Court from the Magistrate court at the last court sitting where the defendants were arraigned afresh.
The Prophet, Alfa Babatunde along with six others, Peter Anjorin, Omodara Olayinka, Margaret Oyebola, Grace Ogunjobi, Egunjobi Motunrayo, Esther Kayode, were arraigned on three count charge.
Counsel to Prophet Alfa Babatunde, Olusola Oke made application for bail at the last sitting, but the trial judge, Justice A.O Odusola refused the application.
The litigation began in December, 2019, when the defendants were dragged before the court in respect to the kidnap of one Eninlaloluwa Gold Kolawole, a 13-month-old baby at Sotitobire Praising Chapel in Oshinle, Akure.
The prosecution promised the court that it would bring all its witnesses to court today, so that hearing could commence.
The hearing would also continue tomorrow, March 17 and Tuesday March 18, 2020.
