Publicity Secretaries of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the South-West geopolitical zone have been thrown into mourning following the death of their colleague, Alhaji Tunde Oladunjoye.
Oladunjoye, who until his demise served as the Publicity Secretary of the APC in Ogun State, breathed his last on Friday, April 4, 2025, in the United Kingdom after a brief illness.
He also held the position of South-West coordinator of the Conference of APC State Publicity Secretaries, CAPS.
A statement issued by the South-West Secretary of the conference, Mr Alex Kalejaye, who also serves as the Publicity Secretary of the party in Ondo State, described the development as shocking and devastating, particularly as Oladunjoye was in good health and high spirits during their last meeting.
According to Kalejaye, “he was a seasoned journalist, a courageous democrat, and a loyal party man. His sudden departure has created a vacuum that will be difficult to fill.”
The publicity secretaries commended the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for what they termed his frantic and sincere efforts to save the late spokesman’s life.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his immediate family, the Government and people of Ogun State, and the Muslim community where he served with uncommon dedication,” the statement read.
The publicity secretaries from the six South-West states, Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, and Ekiti offered prayers for the repose of Oladunjoye’s soul, asking Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest.
