Sports Festival: Be good ambassadors, Ondo Commissioner charges contingent

Ondo State Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Mr Saka Yusuf Ogunleye has charged the state contingent to the National Sports Festival to be good ambassador of the state in Abuja.
Saka who gave the charge while bidding the state contingent farewell to Abuja, said they should go there to rule the country by winning many medals for the state .
No section of sports should come back empty handed
Saka said, “we want to show to the world that Ondo State is fertile in Sports and highly discipline.
“The team captain will be held responsible for any act of indiscipline over there, I have no doubt in my mind that we will be proud of you all”.
He affirmed that the state will ensure that the entitlement and welfare of the athlethes will be of priority .
“We will ensure that your are all adequately compensated. When you have done us proud we should also thank you by celebrating you”.
The Commissioner added that the festival should be an improvement from what the state did at the youths games in Ilorin, when it came third, saying “we can do better by winning medals in all the sports over there.”
He admonished both the officials and the athletes to go there make friends who will add values to their choosen career in future .
He assured that “the Governor and my self will be in Abuja to cheer the state representatives up.”
Earlier, the Acting General Manager of the state Sports Council, Mr Wande Fabuluje assured the commissioner that medals will be the target of the state contingent in Abuja.
The team Captain, Mr Fasugba Abiodun, who spoke on behalf of the team said the state contingent will do the state proud, by being a good ambassador of the state .
“We will do our best for the state to come back victorious”.
