Sports ‘ll reduce youths restiveness -Lawrence

S chools have been urged to take inter-house sports serious, the Principal, Ebun Ogunyimika Comprehensive College, Atosin-Idanre, Mr Lawrence Falope has said.

He added that sports helps to discover hidden talents in students and strengthening their mind to ensure they live a healthy life.

Falope who stated this at the 45th annual inter-house sports competition of the school added that sports can make students to be self reliant and reduce youths restiveness.

He said: “Inter-house sports competition can give students the opportunity to engage in activities which can impact positively on their health and social interaction. In spite of diversities in their potential and individual abilities.

“The college gives sports the recognition, support and attention it deserves. Through our annual inter-house sports competition, many budding talents have been discovered among our pupils and we shall continue  to nurture and bring these talents to the limelight,” Falope said.

He added that the college would continue to provide platform for young men and women to develop their potential in sports that might eventually help them to become professionals.

Awosunye (Blue House) emerged the overall winners of the 45th annual inter house sports while Ogunyimika (Green House) came second and Akinradewo (Red House) bagged third position. Awards and prizes were given to winners in the various competitions.

The event witnessed excited students from various Secondary school that added more excitement to the event.

The dignitaries that graced the sport are

Dr Olatundoye, School base management committee, PTA chairman Elder Obomakinwa, Mr Festus Akingbaso, Mrs Iwayemi Omolara, Mr Abayomi Akinsioye, Mr Sunday Akinwalere among others.
