Sports ministry ready to collaborate with AGFD

The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in Ondo state, Mr.Dotun Owanikin, yesterday hailed the talents discovery vision of African Grassroot Football Development (AGFD).
The Commissioner, who stated this while playing host to the member of the (AGFD) in his office, described the bane of African football development to inability to catch youths young.
He said, the ministry is ready to partner and encourage the organization in order to search, develop talents for the glory of the State and the country at large.
Owanikin commended the organization for looking beyond Ondo State adding that they should use their network to build a strong relationship with the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports.
He added that the indigent youths of the state would benefit from the lofty idea of the body being the state that gave birth to the nationwide accepted organisation saddled with youth grassroots football development.
He added further that the government at all levels will be interested in seeing an organisation so committed to the discovery and developing talented youths from grassroots to stardom.
He therefore advised the organization to think of how to be independent.
He charged them to use their wide network to look for foreign partners”
Earlier, the President of African Grassroots Football Development, Prince Moruf Adams who was represented by the organization’s Director of International Affairs and Marketing, Mr. Samuel Patani said the body was in the commissioner office to facilitate a working relationship with the Ministry .
Adams stated the vision and the mission of the NFF and ODSFA affiliated organisation to include discovery of grassroots footballers and to promote African Football at large.
