Standard education ‘ll boost values, potential – Don

Standard education is a platform that can identify core values and pursuit of passion for life fulfilment.
This is the submission of dignitaries at the 6th Valedictory Service and Prize-Giving day of Mabest Academy, Akure, yesterday.
Delivering the valedictory lecture, Vice-Chancellor, Elizade University, Prof. Olukayode Amund charged the students to always uphold the right attitude as they journey in life
Represented by Mrs Fadekemi Atere, the VC urged the graduands to identify what they want in life and pursue it with vigour.
Mrs Atere urged the outgoing students to always uphold the right attitude as they journey into a new phase and advised them to ignore peer pressure, stating that hard work helps in achieving success.
“You are your values. When you identify who you are, your core values and what matters to you and you tailor it according to your purpose, this will help you achieve your purpose and gain fulfilment in life,” she said.
The Chief of Staff to the Ondo State Governor, Chief Olugbenga Ale submitted that education is needed for the economic, social and other areas of the society, hence, it must be put on the front burner.
He encouraged the graduating students to be good ambassadors of the school, the state and the country wherever they find themselves.
In his speech, the Head of School, Mr Emmanuel Oladunjoye Ige advised the graduands to embrace the spirit of Phoenix to become change-makers, innovators and leaders of tomorrow.
Mr Emmanuel charged the students to always rise above life challenges and limitations while taking advantage of very great opportunities.
“As you spread your wings and soar into the next chapter of your lives, remember the lessons you have learned here, the friendships you have cultivated, and the values that have shaped you.”
He, however, appreciated the parents, and guardians for entrusting the school with the education and growth of their children.
Activities such as presentation of awards and gifts, the inauguration of the school’s new prefects, orchestra, cultural dance, old school dance in Palazzo, Shakara, Brekete and Bonsuwei and among others were observed at the ceremony.
