Stay-at-home order: Be civil in your conduct, Police urged

Policemen deployed to enforce government’s directive on’ stay-at-home order, have been advised to be civil in their conducts and resist any act capable of undermining the integrity of the force.
To this end, the Ondo State Police Command has called on all the Tactical Squad, which include; Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Special Anti-Cultism Squad (SACS), Special Anti- Kidnapping Squad (SAKS), deployed to keep surveillance and patrol to be civil to members of the public, warning them against hostility.
The police spokesman, ASP Tee-Leo Ikoro, told The Hope Metro that the police authority would deal with any policeman caught acting contrary to the directive of the government and the police.
He said all the Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and heads of Tactical squad have been instructed to monitor their men.
He explained that the stay-at-home directive is still in full force while he enjoined law-abiding citizens to be security conscious and report any strange movement of persons or individual to the nearest police station
According to Ikoro, policemen have been told not use guns in enforcing the government directive, but rather make batons so as to avoid any unforeseen circumstances, adding that everybody’s human rights and dignity must be respected.
He, however commended the people for their maximum cooperation since the lockdown order began, urging them to continue discharging their duties, ensuring safety of their lives and property were guaranteed
