Strange insects: Akoko residents go spiritual

Following attack by some strange insects in Afin Community in Akoko Northwest Local Government Area of Ondo State last week, various efforts have been made by both the State Government and Akoko Northwest Local government authority to eradicate them.

Recall that The Hope on Wednesday reported the attack by some strange insects on the Akoko community.

The Hope learnt that the Afin community in particular and the Senator representing Ondo North District at the upper chamber of the National Assembly,  Pastor Jide Ipinsagba are currently doing a lot curtail the spread of these insects.

It also learnt that residents have gone spiritual with inter denominational prayers to solve the problems which has attracted members of the public.

Presently,  the monarch of the town,  Oba Professor Abdur-Raheem Mustapha Adejoro  has mandated all residents to also make sure that bushy premises are cleared, calling on people to maintain hygienic lifestyle.

The traditional ruler in addition declared coming Saturday’s environmental exercise as a special one for the entire  Afin Akoko community.

Meanwhile fumigation exercise is going on in the town and it is hoped to be extended to farm centres and hamlets in the area.

A resident, Mr Raymond Omoolasoye,  commended the prompt response from  Akoko Northwest Local Government, Prince Kunle Saliu, Senator Jide Ipinsagba and other well meaning Nigerians who showed concerned about the plight of the people.
