Akinnodi Francis, Ore
For allegedly engaging in public fight, two men have appeared before an Ore Magistrates’ Court sitting in Odigbo.
The two middle aged men; Enock Perekevikunghan, 25 and Damilola Gboyega, 35, with no fixed addresses, are facing a count charge.
The prosecutor, Inspector Usifoh James, told the court that the defendants conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by engaging themselves in a public fight in January 15, 2020 at about 10.30am, opposite NNPC Petroleum station, Mobile, Ore.
James informed the court that the offence contravened section 249(d) of the Criminal Code Cap 37 Vol. 1 Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, however, prayed for a date to enable him gather three prosecution witnesses and study the case file.
Counsel to the defendants, Mr. P.O Daniel, did not oppose the date requested. But he urged the court to grant his clients bail in most liberal terms.
The Magistrate, Mr T.J Ajayi, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N20, 000 each, with one surety each in like sum.
He adjourned the case till January 29, 2020 for mention.
