As part of efforts to strengthen the primary school system in Ondo State through effective school evaluation, the State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, has organised a five days seminar for Quality Assurance Officers of the board in Akure.
Speaking while declaring the workshop open, Permanent Secretary of SUBEB, Mr Akinbamidele Akinnagbe said the effort was to improve learning in primary schools across the state.
Akinnagbe who reiterated the commitment of the state government at giving premium attention to primary school system being the foundation of education, disclosed that the newly recruited one thousand primary school teachers will be posted out to different schools across the 18 local government areas of Ondo state in the next two weeks.
According to him, the new teachers who are waiting for their place of postings, received their appointment letters recently.
The permanent secretary commended the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for his approval of the counterpart fund which he said paved way for the assessment of allocation from Universal Basic Education Commission UBEC
In a speech presented by Mrs.Deborah Dajep on behalf of the Executive Secretary of Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), she urged participants to take the training seriously and tap from the knowledge of the resource persons who had been carefully selected for the training
One hundred participants are benefitting in the five days seminar workshop.
