Sunshine Stars Coach, Emmanuel Deutsch, has dedicated the victory over Katsina United to fans, Sports Writers for their support.
He made the disclosure after Sunshine Stars defeated Katsina United 2-0 in the match day 30 of Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL decided at the Ondo State Sports Complex,Akure the state capital.
He said the victory was for the media, fans and the sports loving Ondo State people, adding that the victory was what the state needed.
He said; I am happy, it’s not the end of the league. I pray to God we continue like this, God has given us the result and we showed character in the second half.
“No coach can be happy if he loses matches or didn’t win at home, I need winning bonuses too, I have to satisfy the fans and everybody, if we win all our matches till the end of the season, I will be happy,” he said.
Sunshine Stars are now on eight positions on the log with 42 points from 30 matches.
His Katsina United counterpart, Coach Bishir Sadauki said his team failed to utilised the chances it created and suffered for it.
Sadauki said his team would try to push on and achieve the set targets for the season.
The Akure based team in a weekend NPFL game returned to winning ways after defeating Katsina United in the match day 30 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Both teams played goalless in the first half of the tensed encounter.
Sunshine Stars have last won 1-0 against Rivers United and failed to pick maximum points against Shooting Stars and Akwa United in Akure.
However, after 13 minutes of play in the second half (58th minute), Sunshine Stars Midfielder, Azeez Ajagbe broke the deadlock with a superb finish to give the home team the lead.
In the 80th minute, penalty was awarded to Sunshine Stars after Katsina goalkeeper; Nwabali Stanley’s leg caught Sunshine Striker, Donald Ugochuckwu in the area with the latter converting from the spot to make it 2-0.
