Sunshine Queens II’ become team to beat – Ogunja

The General Manager of Sunshine Queens and Sunshine Stars, Prince Babatunde Ogunja has expressed optimism that the current Sunshine Queens squad will become a team to beat in future.
The Ex-Nigeria International said the squad only need time to blend together, saying they have potential to improve with every match they play.
Ogunja stated this after the Akure based team defeated their Ekiti counterpart 1-0 at the ongoing 2023 Sheroes pre-Season Cup competition holding at Area 3,Garki, Abuja.
The General Manager while charging the players to be heads up, admonished them to remain focused and play more as a team, saying they have all what it takes to become one of the best teams in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL).
He said: “The team is just coming up, I know they are yet to fully blend together, I believe with time and every match, they will keep improving.”
He assured the players of good welfare package ahead of the 2023/24 Nigeria Women Football League slated to kick off on November 15.
“I’m aware they are in a very competitive group, but what I’m seeing here, there is prospect for them to become a strong team.”
He later presented a cash gift to the players for their sterling performance against Ekiti Queens.
Sunshine Queens had earlier lost 2-1 to Naija Ratels, played 2-2 with Honey Badgers and defeated Ekiti Queens 1-0 in a South West derby.
Sunshine Queens will trade tackles with Edo Queens by 8am this morning.
